He obtained a bachelor of science from the University of Maryland and a juris doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law. Prior to his appointment to the bench on November 7, 2016, he was a partner with the Rockford, Illinois, law firm of WilliamsMcCarthy LLP, where he was part of the firm’s litigation group.
